ABOUT ME
My name is Aric Bruggeworth and my avid interest in genealogy began in childhood when I found an old family tree in my Grandparent’s attic. I have a B.A. in History from the University of Central Florida with a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University.
I’m a former high school social studies teacher and former Park Guide for the National Park Service. While working for the NPS I conducted historical and genealogical research for interpretive historical programs at Chancellorsville and Spotsylvania Battlefield. I received the STAR Award (Special Thanks for Achieving Results) from the NPS for conducting original research for the park and presenting formal interpretive programs as part of a living history event. I also wrote and implemented an interpretive living history program still used by the park today.
I have assisted several historical sites and museums with the planning and implementation of research based interpretive living history and genealogy programs. I am currently a member of Jamestowne Society, Sons of the American Revolution, and the Sons of Union Veterans.
I specialize in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama genealogical records, as well as American Civil War research and applications for lineage societies. I’m also available for record retrieval requests as I am conveniently located near the South Carolina Department of Archives and History in Columbia. I would also be willing to travel a reasonable distance to obtain local courthouse or county archive records.
I believe in delivering excellent customer service along with a quality product. I’d love the opportunity to help you explore your family’s history and help find answers to those old family questions. Call for a free consultation.
